Walmanyjum Cable Beach - Shire of Broome

Broome's most iconic destination is being transformed - respecting the past, protecting the coastline and creating an accessible, vibrant place to gather, play and enjoy all year-round.

Stage 1 : (Near the Surf Club) was completed in May 2025.

Stage 2 : Began in June 2025, is due for completion in mid-late 2026.

To assist with your visit, please note the following:

Venues and Operators

  • It's business as usual for all

  • Access the beach, Beach Hut Hire, Camel Rides and Cable beach House restaurant via the Surf Club

  • The road in front of the Cable Beach Club is restricted to guests only. Pedestrian access to the Sunset Bar and Restaurant is via the walkway.

Car Parking & Bus Stops

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Limited car parking is available at the Surf Club

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Overflow parking is available at the Old Croc Park, across the road

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Bus stop is temporarily located near the roundabout at the intersection of Sanctuary Rd and Cable Beach Rd West

North of the Rocks Access

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Vehicle access has been closed

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Pedestrian access to the beach and camels is via the Surf Club and Cable Beach House stairs

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Gantheaume Beach parking area has been extended to cater for those wishing to drive onto the beach

Dogs on the Beach

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Dogs are temporarily prohibited north of the Surf Club

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Dogs are permitted south of the Surf Club, but they must be on-lead for 450m until they reach the sign-posted 'exercise area'
