2021 - LET'S ELOPE

This is how Shaina and PJ, who eloped in Broome recently, described their experience and it sums an elopement up perfectly.

Elopement weddings are becoming more and more popular. Fact. The definition of elopement has changed, and it no longer means running away from your family and getting married in secret. Although this may be the case for some, a modern elopement is centred around turning your wedding day into an experience and celebrating in a way that feels authentically you. And whatever each couple’s reason may be for choosing to elope (and there are many), one thing they all have in common is they say their day was intimate, fun, magical and, of course, filled with love.

As a celebrant, I absolutely love an elopement. It really is the most beautiful and intentional way to be married. You can turn your back on any part of a traditional wedding and truly focus on what matters – your partner, the love you share and the promises you are making to each other. Enormously powerful indeed.

Maybe your wanderlust inspires you to travel somewhere new to marry? Want to fly by helicopter to a remote, secluded beach on the Dampier Peninsula for your nuptials? Say I do in a gorge on the Gibb River Road? Or wander over the sand dunes of Minyirr Park, drop down onto Cable Beach and be married barefoot in the sand? With an elopement, these fun and adventurous ideas can become reality.

Broome and the Kimberley is the best place to elope. With amazing natural beauty, winter sun and a huge range of wedding professionals you will be rewarded with not only some amazing photos, but wonderful memories too.
