Kan Art Shed
In a little green shed in old Broome, at 7 Orr Street, you’ll find a hub of local creative activity that invites the community to get their hands dirty and connect with the creative Kimberley. Behind the stunning orange door is KAN’s (Kimberley Arts Network) bright open studio space. KAN regularly hosts creative activities for the community, including regular life drawing sessions and monthly artist socials. The Art Shed opens the door to creative Broome and beyond.
KAN can also develop bespoke art workshops for a group or an arts-focussed event to connect you to our beautiful environment and spark your creative imagination; imagine ‘en plein air’ painting in beautiful Minyirr Park, ceramics in the garden or a fun ‘sip and sketch’ life drawing session with a live model.
The Kimberley has a reputation for being a vibrantly creative place with legendary performers and amazing art centres, and Broome is home to artists, musicians, performers and circus stars!
The Kimberley Arts Network drives a lot of creative activity in Broome, including the annual Broome Fringe Festival (June 2 -11 2023) and the Shinju Art Awards 9in August).
Throughout the year we host a range of artist-run workshops in the KAN Art Shed, and you can discover current events on the website:
